Is you're real name Zeke?

• That depends. If I'm back on the dairy farm it is. It's been Zeke ever since the guys named me that shortly after I started in 1978. Now away from the farm, most folks call me Rick.

What's you're favorite kind of pie?

• Cherry! I can remember picking cherries off my grandma's fruit tree and mom making pies. Both are great memories that still make it my favorite.

Ok, time for a woodworking question. What's the best wood to use for your woodworking project?

• That's kind of like asking which of your kids do you love the most. They all have unique qualities that may fit a particular situation depending on durability, color, cost, and availability. I will admit one of my favorite woods is quarter sawn oak, but I'll help you think through which wood to use.

Here's a tough question. How much do you charge?

• If I'd win the lottery I wouldn't charge anything. Of course you have to play to win. Anyway, my hourly charge is $40 hour. But don't let that scare you away. I'll do everything I can to help make your project fit into your budget. This isn't a cheesy line, I'm more concerned about helping you create a great project than I am with making an hourly rate. If you really want to do something, we'll make it work.

What type of projects can you do?

• I've done really small projects like a single wall shelf, built in book cases, wood turnings like "Celebration Bottles", and a custom bar. Because I like variety, its fun to work on a lot of different projects. I always learn something new.

How long does a project take to complete?

• It really depends on the complexity. Some items take a few hours and others can take days, or even weeks. We can talk about your time frame or deadline and make it work.

I saw something online I really liked. Can you make it for me?

• Probably. I like taking pictures and working backwards to see how it was constructed. And the great thing about custom woodworking is we can change just about any aspect to make it fit your style.
